Do you ever feel like the world is crashing down around you? Like, if one more thing goes wrong you will collapse under the weight of it all? Where you are so stressed out, it just seemed like everything was going wrong. Have you ever felt that way or is that how you’re feeling at this moment? Where it seems like your life is all planned out for you and you don’t feel like you can live up to expectations. Or maybe it’s something different, but equally as weighty. It doesn’t matter what it is, Jesus calls us to come to Him when we are weary and burdened. We shouldn’t wait until it feels like we have the time, we need to make the time.

Just take a few moments to pray or open your Bible and read His Word. As soon you do this and take that time today and each day, and as soon as you turn to Christ you will feel so much better!  You will feel peace~ His peace!  But you have relinquish it all to Him and don’t pick it back up. You see, when we take that time to come to Him, He gives us rest. He lifts the weight off of our shoulders, and reminds us that it really is in His hands and that we need to trust Him. That doesn’t mean that everything will be downhill from there, it just reminds us that no matter how many bad things happen, He will never leave us or forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:8).

So do you feel weary or burdened at this moment? Are you trying to handle it all on your own, or are you going to Jesus to get rest from the world? When you feel weary or burdened, like you just can’t keep going, go to Jesus. Take a moment to pray, or step back from life for a moment and open your Bible. Bring it to Him He will comfort and guide you. He will give you rest. Right now, in the midst of that worry or issue or concern, the God of the universe is asking you to turn it over to Him. Let Him work it out in His timing and His perfect way.

How To Stop Striving and Resting in God?

WOW! What a mighty God we serve. So many of us are always are trying to straighten things out. Fix someone, only to simply weary others and worry ourselves to be a mess. BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD. Your persistent nagging and trying to do everything on your own, when you finally stop and say God I can’t do this anymore on my own, God will intervene and do IT! What a powerful, precise, and perfectly penned word for so many of us. Have a blessed day everyone!!

In the midst of a heartbreaking trial that you maybe going through, God clearly gave me the verse from Psalm 46: “Be still and know that I am God” ~Psalm 46:10

Maybe you have been doing everything you knew to do, everything  you could do, in order to fix this painful situation – and then came the Word of God: “Be still, cease striving… know that I am God.”

God’s Word is clear. We couldn’t fix it, and we need to stop trying. You had wept. You had prayed. You had tried to make things right. You had searched your heart, rehearsed all your failings, and experienced the grief of them all. Yet nothing had worked. The situation hadn’t changed; the incredible pain had not gone away. Now I hope it is clear. If you were to walk in faith, if you were to live by faith, you had to cease striving. You were to shut your mouth and quit trying to teach, to instruct, to straighten out, and you were to know God. He sits as sovereign on His throne; He hasn’t moved. And you haven’t seen “the rest of the story.” Your part in this situation was simply “to be” rather than “to do.” Whatever happens, you need to know that you are to continue to rest, to relax and to remember that He is God. You are to walk by faith and remember that you are not God, that you cannot fix the situation. Your responsibility is simply to trust and obey and to be what He wants you to be. You are to embrace truth and to live by it.

Come unto me……

This message for everyone to reflect on for anyone who needs rest from their burdens that they are carrying. Are you soul weary? Are you having a difficult time seeing the light at the end of the tunnel? Is your heart heavy for someone right now? Do you just need a moment of rest, a moment to breathe, a moment to escape the downpour in your life? Jesus has the answer. He has made a way for you.

“Come to me all you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” ~Matthew 11:28

In the course of the week, I encounter so many people with overwhelming problems. Some were mourning the loss of loved ones. Some struggled with physical ailments; others dealing with job losses. I thought how small my difficulties are in comparison. I felt so helpless. My little interruptions paled in comparison to those around me. Do you ever feel that way as well?

Ever been so weary and burdened you wanted to just give up? Ever wonder which way to turn? When we face these situations day after day, hour after hour, our strength grows weak. It is nothing to be ashamed of; there’s no need for guilt or despair. Our bodies are telling us to rest. Our spirit is telling us it needs refreshment. Our minds need to rest from racing and chasing solutions.

The problems we have create mountain after mountain that seem impossible to climb. We need Jesus. We need His comfort and strengthening power. Ask for it. Give Him your worn spirit, your tired body, your broken heart. Let Him take it from you; surrender it all and let Him restore the joy of His salvation. Fear not, for He is with you, even to the end of the age.

This passage offers us hope. Are we ready to come to Jesus with our weary hearts and receive the rest we long for? Recognizing Jesus as our source of refreshment and our source of strength will enable us to acknowledge that we cannot be an effective Him. We need Him everyday!
