God can heal anxiety!

“When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy..” ~  Psalm 94:19

God doesn’t want us to live in a state of high anxiety. He has not given us a spirit of fear. He doesn’t want us to be anxiously looking about, but confidently looking up. So what are we to do if we are being overtaken by anxious thoughts? We need to set our focus on God and His goodness. The comfort of His presence and His Word will turn the fear into joy. You see, anxiety is alarming us to the fact that we are anxious because we have taken our eyes off the Lord. Anxious people are filled with the worries of life. Peaceful people, on the other hand, are filled with the realities of God.

Where is your mind today? Is it fixed on the greatness of God? Is it actively clinging to His precious and magnificent promises? Remember, no matter how big your problems may seem to you, He can certainly handle whatever troubles you are facing right now. He is good. He loves you. You can trust Him.

How to have Victory over Unforgiveness?

Jesus gave a warning about allowing unforgiveness to reside in the heart. He said that those who refuse to forgive others won’t be forgiven by the Father. Do not misunderstand Jesus’ meaning here. Believers don’t lose their salvation when they refuse to forgive. Rather, they break fellowship with God because their unrepentant attitude gets in the way of regular confession and repentance. The Lord cannot ignore sin, and His Spirit will bring wrong behavior to the believer’s attention until he or she deals with it.

“But if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”~ Matthew 6:15

Forgiveness is an act of the will more than an act of the heart. Often people don’t feel like being merciful to someone who has wronged them. But a resentful spirit grows into a terrible burden. The Lord knows that forgiveness is best, even when it is difficult.

You won’t deal with a sin until you see it as God does. So assume full responsibility for your unforgiving attitude, and acknowledge that it is a violation of His Word. Claim the divine mercy He offers, and ask Him to enable you to lay aside anger and resentment against the other person(s). As part of the decision to move forward in grace, make a habit of praying for those who hurt you. And if God so leads, seek their forgiveness for your wrong attitude.

A bitter and resentful spirit doesn’t fit who we are in Christ. Nor is it healthy to carry an angry attitude through life. That’s why Scripture emphasizes the need to forgive. Choose to be liberated from your burden–Jesus promised to make us free when we release our sins to Him (John 8:36).

Healing For a Broken Heart!

One of the most painful emotional experiences is that of a “broken heart” whether it be from a severed relationship or the death of a loved one. or a myriad of other things. Everyone has to deal with a broken heart at some point in life because we live in a fallen world, and, as a result, we are constantly faced with shattered dreams, unexpected losses, and hurting relationships. But God gives hope to all those who suffer from a broken heart by promising both His abiding presence and His overflowing peace.

Psalm 34:18 says that the Lord “is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” In John 14:27 Jesus states, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you . . . Do not let your hearts be troubled.”

God’s purposes in allowing pain in our lives are multifaceted. Not only does He teach us about His love and faithfulness amidst our times of sorrow, but after our grieving has ended, He gives us strength to offer words of edification to others who are experiencing similar trials. I Peter 5:9 says, ” . . . Your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.” Thus, we serve as both a support base and a hope for those who are walking through difficult situations proving that with God’s help even seemingly insurmountable obstacles can be overcome.

If you are struggling with emotional pain, take comfort in the fact that God has your situation as well as you in the palm of His hands. He will not let you go, and He will not let you down. A final word of hope can be found in I Peter 5:10, “And the God of all grace, who called you . . . , after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, form, and steadfast.” Take heart, the pain you experience today may be your platform for ministry tomorrow.

Do you need a healing touch from God?

Do you need God’s healing touch on your body today? I know that a good percentage of people reading these words need God’s healing touch. Many of you are reading these words today in tremendous pain. Many of you are reading these words today as you face an upcoming surgery. Many of you are reading these words today as you deal with a serious disease. Many of you are reading these words today as you are trying to heal from a sickness or injury. Every person reading these words today has a family member, friend, or someone you know who needs God’s healing touch. Let me say this very clearly, GOD IS STILL IN THE HEALING BUSINESS IN AUGUST OF 2013!

As you read these words today I want to remind you of a great truth. GOD IS NO RESPECTER OF PERSONS. What that simply means is what God has done for someone else, God will do for you. Please, let me say that one more time so you can let it sink into your Spirit. What God has done for someone else, God will do for YOU!!!

Let me share something exciting with you today. There is a powerful truth in the Book of Hebrews that tells us “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Listen to me carefully now. The powerful meaning of that truth for YOUR life today is simply this. The very same Jesus who healed that woman we read about in the Bible who had the issue of blood, is the very same Jesus who is here to heal you today. Please, stop for a moment and meditate on this powerful truth.

THE VERY SAME JESUS WE READ ABOUT HEALING THE WOMAN WITH THE ISSUE OF BLOOD, IS THE VERY SAME JESUS WHO IS HERE TO HEAL YOU TODAY!!!

If you need God’s healing touch in your body today, if there is someone that you know who needs to be healed, I want to encourage you to be like that woman with the issue of blood and exercise that “measure of faith” today. Just like she reached out to touch the hem of the garment Jesus was wearing, you can reach out to Him today through prayer.

Stop what you are doing right now and call on the name of Jesus. Reach out to him IN FAITH and ask Him to heal you or the one you love. As you do, remember that the very same Jesus you are crying out to today, is the very same Jesus who healed the woman with the issue of blood. He is no respecter of persons and what He did for her, He will do for you. As the healing virtue of Christ flowed through her body and she was made whole, Jesus looked at her and said, “Go, your faith has made you whole.”

I want you to know that I will be praying for you today. I will be standing in agreement with you today as you take that step of faith for God’s healing touch on your body or the body of the one you love. GOD IS STILL IN THE HEALING BUSINESS IN 2013! May you hear Him say to you, “Go, your faith has made you whole!!!”
