“We have this Hope as an Anchor for the Soul!

In our spiritual lives, we must make sure that our hope – is attached to the RIGHT anchor that will keep the ship of our lives from being tossed and torn by the storms of this life. This anchor is the good news of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Our hope in the Lord is truly the anchor for our soul both in good times and in bad. We have felt disappointed and life has seemed rough many times but we have been given in Him a precious hope that will continue to sustain us.

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain.” ~ Hebrews 6:19

We believe God for many things and many times feel let down. But more than believing for a specifics we believe in God. We can’t predict what is going to happen next in our lives. We make our plans and if they don’t pan out as we intended we can’t lose hope. Hope for our future, hope for what God has planned for each of our lives. Even if adverse circumstances overtake our lives we can’t give up, we can’t lose our hope and our joy.

It is what keeps us standing firm in troubles. If we stop hoping we can expect that our lives will be miserable indeed.  There are no guarantees in this life that trouble will not come, and that we won’t be disappointed.  What we can do is continue to hope in God and His miracle working power, and His incredible wisdom, and trust in Him.  We can expect good things from God but we cannot expect to custom order miracles and command Him.

So I ask you: Where is your hope? Have you placed it in the things of this world: your husband, children, money, job, ministry, approval of others which are imperfect, temporary and will fail you? Or have you tied your “rope” to the only anchor that is sure and steadfast, the living Hope, the perfect One who never fails and is coming again soon to receive His Bride?

Have a wonderful day as you hope in the anchor for your soul.

God is the Anchor of our Soul!

We need to continually come to God, as He was meant to be the center of our consciousness, the Anchor of our soul. Sometimes our mind will wander from His presence, but the question is how far will you allow it to wander. As you drift away from Him, His Spirit within you gives a tug, prompting you to return to His presence. As you become increasingly attuned to His presence, the length of rope on your soul’s Anchor is shortened. You wander only a short distance before feeling that inner tug – telling you to return to your true Center in Him.

“This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor of our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.” Hebrews 6:19

We need to thank the Lord that He is the Anchor of our soul. I pray that we don’t seek these things from earthly means – status, jobs, money, relationships, etc. because these things are so temporary and could be taken away at any time. I pray that you truly see God as your only choice for securing your boat in a storm. Your boat may be tossed and turned, the life jackets may be thrown overboard, the emergency response system may malfunction, but as long as you maintain your intimate relationship with Him, the rope that connects to the anchor will be strengthened and the weight of the anchor will hold your boat steady no matter how big the waves may be. He also control the waves and the storm and He only allow these things to rock your boat to test your perseverance which is defined as: steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., esp. in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement. He is refining you and growing you in your walk through this sanctification process and only then do you become more mature in Christ. This is the ultimate goal: To look more like His Son, Jesus.

Have a wonderful day in the presence of the Anchor of our Soul.  Please share with others and please find me on Facebook.  God’s blessings be upon you today and always!

Hope that Anchors the Soul!

So many people today are depressed and discouraged simply because they only focus on their present circumstances. They’re constantly dwelling on their problems, what they don’t have, and what’s wrong with them. They don’t realize it, but they’re allowing the enemy to steal their hope. This negative frame of mind is what keeps people from moving forward in life. Have a wonderful day in His presence and continue moving forward with God as your anchor.

“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain.” ~Hebrews 6:19

Understand today that faith is confidence and assurance about the things we hope for according to the promises of God. Like an arrow, your faith points to the target of hope. If you don’t have hope, that arrow of faith will just drop to the ground. It won’t accomplish anything. But when you keep your hopes up, when you keep expecting and believing, it’s as if that target gets larger and larger — easier to hit!

Choose today to live with an attitude of expectancy. Get your hopes up! Start by taking captive any negative thoughts you may have one at a time. As you focus on God’s goodness and faithfulness, you’ll feel that hope inside you growing. You’ll give your faith a target, and you’ll move confidently into the blessings and peace the Lord has in store for you!
