“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1
Of course, the Word is none other but Jesus (see John 1:14). Thus, He’s not only the Word that was, but the Word who is, and will always be. Do you realize what that means? It means Jesus is the Word who brings healing to the soul; He can restore your fractured life and mend your broken heart. He is the Light that shines in the darkness . . . the Light that no man can put out. He is the Blessed Hope who is able to save to the uttermost, and always lives to make intercession for those who go to the Father through Him (Hebrews 7:25). Have you noticed these things about Him? Are you really allowing Jesus to be the Word of your life? If not, what is so important that you would let it come between you and Him?
Whatever it may be that’s keeping you from fully embracing the life that Jesus wants to give you, it won’t endure the test of time . . . it will eventually fade away. But His love will remain. Nothing can stop Him from being who He is. Cast your cares on Him and see that He is good. He will carry your burdens if you ask Him to. He says, “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). He extends this invitation to all . . . that includes you.
Will you go to Him?
