No matter what our situation is, we can pray with joy because of our hope in Christ no matter what our current situation is. We can remain patient, persevering through affliction, by presenting our requests and intercessions to God with thanksgiving. Prayer is God’s gift to us so that we can be patient and joyful, even when things don’t appear to be going well. So many people have had their hope has run out. They’ve stopped believing in God’s promises and, as a result, have lost the joy that comes with the Christian life. Let me encourage you to not lose hope. Cling to God’s every promise, and you’ll discover joy that goes beyond any circumstance!
“Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” Romans 12:12
To embrace difficulty does not mean we like pain or enjoy suffering, but it does mean we trust God to work out a good outcome for His glory. He is full of mercy and compassion in the middle of physical and emotional suffering. Thus, we are patient to pray for God’s grace to give us the will to wait on Him and to rest in Him.
