Grace: Taken for granted?

We are all familiar with this scripture below and have heard it said that God’s grace is sufficient, but how does that help us? Grace is described as ‘unmerited (not earned, not deserved) help given to people by God; a virtue (strength, courage) coming from God’. So when you change the words in this verse with this definition, it may seem a little clearer. ‘My help strength, and courage is sufficient (adequate to accomplish a purpose or meet a need) for you: for my strength is made perfect (exact, precise, complete) in weakness (an instance or period of being weak). Have a wonderful day relying on His grace to be sufficient for you. Love you all.

“Each Time he said, My grace is sufficient for you: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.”….. 2 Corinthians 12:9

We all face times of being weak. We don’t even have to be facing a large battle. We could just feel exhausted from work or everyday life, filled with too much to do and too little time. Jesus didn’t say ‘My grace is sufficient if the devil is trying to rob you of your life and you’ve done all you can, so I’ll step in and take control.’ When we are exhausted from work or rushing through life, we can get strength from God. But when the devil comes in and is hitting us from all sides, we don’t have to back down and let him do what he wants because we are not strong enough to fight him. We can call on God for any need and He will come and give us the help, strength, and courage we need to get through our weakness. The key word is through. He is not going to give us strength to stay where we are forever. When God extends His grace to us, that gives us the promise that He will make us strong enough to come out of our trial and have a great testimony.

Sometimes God’s mercy and grace are taken for granted. I know I have taken it for granted. When I think about His grace helping me through battles, I realize that God can’t help me unless I ask Him to. But once I ask for His mercy (compassion), He is faithful to me and will give me His grace (help) so that with Him I can face anything that the devil brings against me. The best part about it is that I can walk with God now and it won’t be long until I will be able to look back and say ‘Do you see how God turned the whole situation into good? He didn’t do it just for me but others can see that it had to be God and now they have a hunger for the same peace and strength that I have’.

Take a look at your life. Are you taking God’s mercy and grace for granted too? Do you realize the power God has and is offering to you? Do you realize the peace you can have as you rest with Him?

Jesus is a safe harbor

I am a follower of Jesus. I am a grateful delivered woman who was once an addict, but now God has restored me and renewed me. I have been redeemed and remade by our Creator through salvation of His Son, Jesus Christ! I just want to share what God has done in my life that you may have the opportunity to experience the same joy He gave me. I give God all the glory for everything in my life for I couldn't accomplish anything apart from Him. If ye shall know the truth, the truth shall set you free, John 8:32. He puts people in my life that help me and gives me the opportunity to help another. I am never surprised by his love and blessings. God has placed a confidence and love in myself that I have never had before… so "Thank you God".. for the many True Blue Christians you have put in my life and for all the blessings you bestow on me daily. I have not come this far without lots of prayers and the help and love of my true friends and family and I thank you God for those special people in my life. You are 100% my Savior! I will forever have your name on my lips. I realize now with lots of prayer and reading of the Word… that all the answers were here for me and I never asked the questions. Although I still struggle daily with other life’s daily cards that are dealt, I have an attitude now of “NO MATTER WHAT “– I will praise You, Lord~~~through my storms and my triumphs! I have much more to share and would love to answer any questions anyone may have for through all my trials what has come to be is that I want to help others to see what I didn’t see and hopefully prevent the same hurts, guilt, shame and woes that I had to deal with and give them the best gift of all… JESUS! I believe it's important that we know who we are in God ... We are a one of a kind and God has made us like no other for a purpose- His purpose. Yes, bad things happen and yes, we make poor choices, but we don't have to continue to make them. God's mercies are new each day. Once we realize, know and most importantly believe who we are in Christ, that we are a child of God, we are not an accident, and whatever the circumstances before us each day no matter what they are... God gives us the choice and the power of Him to choose right and live right. We no longer have to live in the past, but in the present and look with expectation to the future with God by our side guiding us and directing our steps. He is our strength and our hope needs to reside in Him. Let his power and love work in your life today and see that life does not have to be the way you are living now. He wants to help you, but you have to let him. He can't make us come to him, he is not lost - WE ARE! Please share this blog with others to encourage them for the glory of God! 1. As a “follower of Jesus”, you should know which commandment is the most important one to Jesus. (No, it’s not “love…..”)

    Poem – What is love?

    Two men came to Jesus
    With different motivations.
They asked Him the same question
    Relevant to all the nations:

    Which is the Most Important?
    The answer was the same.
    Jesus did not manipulate
He was not there to play a game.

“Love the Lord your God” said Jesus
as He quoted from The Law –
    to fulfill and not abolish
was His purpose, full of awe.

Jesus did not make all Scripture
    Into one new great commandment.
He summarized The Law and Prophets
“First and Greatest” and “The Second.”

The Love of God is higher
Than the love of any man.
Receive from God, give back to God-
Then to others, that’s His plan.

The Love of God involves much more
Than simply “love your fellow man.”
Worship, trust, and pray to God,
and obey Him – that’s His plan

To worship and pray to neighbors,
    Whoever they may be,
Or trust and obey our enemies
    Would be idolatry.

The love of God is first and greatest,
And the love of man is second.
“All we need is love” are words
of dead Beetles on the pavement.

“The entire law is summed up in a single command”
are not the words of Jesus our Salvation.
It’s false teaching of Paul the Pharisee
    an “accuser of our brethren.”

“Love” without God is Satan’s word through Paul
in his chapter to the Corinthians.
“I will show you the most excellent way”
is the road to eternal perdition.

Where is God in Paul’s chapter on love?
Nowhere in view of the eye.
Paul sings about himself like a Mexican Mariachi
    “I, I, I, I.”

Jesus is The Most Excellent Way
Not the words of a Pharisee.
The words of Jesus are very clear.
Jesus said, “You must follow ME.”
