Your faith has made you well go in peace!
One day as Jesus was walking amidst a great crowd of people, He suddenly stopped and asked, “Who touched Me?” The disciples looked at each other in amazement and Peter responded by saying, “Master, the whole crowd is touching you!” But Jesus said, “Someone deliberately touched me, for I felt healing power go out from me.” Isn’t that amazing? Hundreds of people were pressing against Jesus but only one person’s touch caught His attention. Who was this person and what was it about them that made them stand out above all the rest?
“A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding, and she could find no cure. Coming up behind Jesus, she touched the fringe of his robe. Immediately, the bleeding stopped.” Luke 8:43-44
I believe in my spirit that the Lord has something special to teach us in this passage and message. It’s pretty amazing when we read this that the woman didn’t beg, plead or ask. She simply believed that the Lord could heal her and based upon her belief, she acted. To me, she performed what may be one of the greatest demonstrations of faith in all the Bible. Apparently Jesus was pleased with what she did for scripture tells us that He said to her – “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace.” (Luke 8:48)
Many believers have grown too accustomed to living life without expecting to experience the supernatural. For some reason their prayers are producing so few results that many of them have almost stopped praying. Yet is the reason they are not experiencing more miracles due to the fact that it is not the Lord’s will or that they don’t demonstrate this kind of faith? They have redefined faith to mean – {I hope, I think, I wish.} In reality, the word faith means – {confidence, trust, assurance and obedience.}
Every prayer we pray should be an attempt to touch the hem of His garment. Yes, there may be some requests we will make that will not be according to His will; but unless we know that is the case, every prayer should be filled with the kind of faith that will seek a miracle.
Have a wonderful day as you remain in His presence. Love you all.
Love seen
Have you ever happened upon something,
something so precious,
something so indescribably beautiful,
something so breathtakingly,
awe-inspiring that you felt as though you shouldn’t be seeing it?
That this moment was something so unique and so exquisite your presence there didn’t belong?
That you were intruding?
I happened upon such a moment while waiting in a drive thru.
I was in a hurry. Isn’t that most usually the case whenever one finds his or her self in a drive thru line? Tapping my fingers on the steering wheel in an effort to “move things along”, I happened to glance to my right. That’s when I saw it.
Love in the parking lot.
No, my eyes didn’t catch a teenage couple getting a little too friendly. And no, I didn’t gaze upon an elderly couple holding hands, still showing the sparks of romance after all these years. My eyes happened upon an elderly lady and who I assumed to be her daughter, dancing their way across the expanse of the parking lot.
Like poetry in motion, their feet slowly shuffled to the beat of the love between their hearts.
Step by step, motion by motion, move by move, these two were in sync.
If was obvious they had danced before.
In fact, dance was most likely their main mode of transportation.
The elderly lady, who no doubt had walked many a mile over her lifetime, could no longer walk on her own. The passing of time had stolen her independence, her strength, her balance, her dignity. Now, arms that once carried children and hands that gently wiped away tears were wound tightly around another. The one who had been carried now carried them both.
The mother rested the weight of her body on the daughter, heart to heart; their bodies pressed together in a oneness that proved they had been waltzing for many years. Like two lovers gliding across a ballroom floor, this mother and daughter elegantly and oh so, slowly, made their way to across the asphalt.
As I watched, time stood still.
I was mesmerized by their movement.
I was captured by their grace.
I was challenged by their synchronized sway and two feet,
purposefully and yet, naturally moving as one.
As I watched, my heart was drawn to the Lover of my Soul, Jesus.
I could hear His invitation to dance.
I could see His outstretched, nail-scarred hand.
I could feel the strength of His heart as I began to lay the weight of my life,
the weight of me, the weight of my own heart on his.
I could taste the freedom of release as I let go and surrendered to His leading.
I could smell the fragrance of grace as we became one,
heart to heart,
dancing in unison across the span of life and on into eternity….
A honk from the car behind me jolted me back to reality,
back to the errands at hand,
back to life.
The younger lady turned her head in my direction and quickly I turned away,
hoping she hadn’t seen me seeing the two of them, staring, with tears in my eyes.
As I paid for my order and waited for change, I stole one more glance over my shoulder.
As I drove away, I knew I would never be the same.
In the middle
I just so love this song!!!
Sometimes we are “in the middle”. The middle is the place to praise!!!! He is carrying you!
Remember when Jesus and the disciples were in the middle of the Sea of Galilee?… and then the storm began and Jesus fell sleep. I believe he did this to show them, that even in the middle of our storms, that as long as we trust Him to care for us and keep our eyes focused on not what is before us, but who is inside us, we shall push through and overcome, but only if we stay focused in the middle! The middle is where the disciples lost their focus, which was their faith in God!!!
When you place all your trust and faith in the One who not only calms the storm, but calms his child, then you’re on your way out of that storm! Be confident, be strong and keep your eyes on Jesus when you are “in the middle”. Show Your Faith in Him today!
Matthew 8:23-27
23 And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him.
24 And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.
25 And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.
26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.
27 But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds obey him!
“IT’S OK”
“It’s ok.”
There’s something about hearing those two simple words that nourishes the soul. Sometimes we don’t believe it, other times it’s hard to see it, but somehow, someway, it’s always going to be ok.
So if you woke up with a heavy heart, know you’re loved and remind yourself of those two simple words. Then pour yourself a fresh-brewed cup of greatness and be encouraged by the wise words from the Word of God!
P.S. You’re stronger than you know 🙂
Keeping Focused!
We must keep our eyes on Christ, our ultimate leader. Unlike any human leaders, He will never change. Christ has been and will be the same forever, in a changing world we can trust our unchanging Lord. I know God is God, and He always will be God.’ We often try to dis-engage ourselves from the spiritual way of thinking – seriously! We tend to think the way man thinks; after all, we are still in the flesh. The Spirit within us keeps prodding our minds, wanting us to relinquish our whole being to the Lord. But, we keep overriding the Holy Spirit and go on our merry way. And, we get in trouble! Have a wonderful Christ-centered day. Love you all.
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” Hebrews 13:8
The enemy would have us think that we don’t need God, that we can do anything on our own. And, some believe his lies. We have to guard against the enemies words by keeping the Word of God closely in our hearts. God is always God, but, we sometimes get complacent in our spiritual lives. This is when the enemy steps in, gets your mind all muddled up with the world’s way of thinking, and you find yourself headed down the wrong path, and don’t know how you got there.
God never changes. He has always has been, is, and always will be the same. It’s us that change. We go on, day to day, either walking with the Lord, or going on our separate ways. We don’t realize we’ve separated ourselves from God, until we come across a problem that’s too hard for us to handle. We need help, so we turn to God. He’s there waiting for His children to come to Him, to sit at His feet, and learn of His ways. When He chastises His children, it’s because He loves us. He has always wanted the best for His children, from the time of Adam and Eve in the garden, until today. He never changes!
If you’ve become complacent, found yourself not growing, or perhaps completely separated from God, why not call His name? He is the same, yesterday, today, and tomorrow. He loves you as He did the first day you called upon Him to save your soul. He wants to be FATHER in every facet of your life. He can give you the peace you long for, and the love you may never have had. No matter how much you change, God is always the same. He LOVES you!
Doubt seeks to destroy our faith!
When doubts set in..
It is in our discouragement—even despair—that we begin to question God. “What did I do wrong?” “Lord, did you call me to this place of confusion?” “Where is my joy and hope?” “Are you even real or just a figment of my imagination?” Left to its natural conclusion, doubt crushes our faith in Christ. Well I hope this message will minster to anyone who is dealing with doubt.
“Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?’” (Matthew 11:2–3).
Fortunately, faith does not have to take a eave of absence, when we are frustrated and fatigued. It is in your confinement that Christ wants to remind you of His great power. So cry out to Him in your confused circumstances, and He will earnestly listen in love. “In my distress I called to the Lord; I called out to my God. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came to his ears” (2 Samuel 22:7). He does not leave His loved ones alone and in doubt.
It is okay to be in doubt, but it is not okay to remain in doubt. What doubt challenges your faith in God? Is it His provision, His promises, His presence, His character, or His care? When these questions assault your confidence in Christ, take a step back and review His track record.
Furthermore, use this temporary time of distrust to go deeper with Jesus. The pressure you feel on all sides is your Savior’s way of soliciting your attention. When in doubt, seek out the Lord, learn to love Him completely, and discern more fully His profound promises. Use doubt to dig deeper into the truth of Scripture; marinate your mind. “Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him” (Psalm 34:8).
When in doubt, stay steadfast in seeking out your Savior. Wait on Him, especially when you wonder what is next. Where there is true faith there may be a mixture of unbelief; so remain faithful, even when questions manipulate your faith. Perseverance will one day free you as a stronger and more-committed follower of Christ. See Jesus for who He is. Doubt dissolves in His reassuring presence. Doubt starves to death when it is not fed.
Have a wonderful day in the presence of the Lord. Love you all.
Live by the Leading of the Holy Spirit!
We are never going to be able to wait for the promises of God in our own strength. Instead, we must learn to rely upon the Holy Spirit. When we allow God’s spirit to dwell within us, we can wait patiently for the hope that is to come. It is hard to have faith that God can do the impossible when your world is crumbling in around you and nothing is going according to plan. Nonetheless, if you are going to be all that God desires you to be, you must remember to allow God to be first in your life.
“But we who live by the Spirit eagerly wait to receive by faith the righteousness God has promised to us.” Galatians 5:5
We must understand that when things are darkest, that is when God desires to allow HIS light to shine through us. We must understand that when things appear to be impossible, that is when God desires to show HIMSELF strong in our lives. It is not about us and our own strength, it is about HIM and what HE can do through those who are willing to wait patiently on HIM.
What is the impossible situation that you face? Does things keep appearing to get worse and worse? Focus upon the Lord and what HE desires you to do. Remember it is not your righteousness. Listen to the voice of God and set your attention on things above. Once you understand who HE is, then you can be in a position where God can do the impossible through you, and do not attempt to take matters into your own hands, you will only make things worse. Instead, understand that waiting is just a part of God’s plan for your life and that the more difficult the situation appears, the more God will receive the glory.
You will never be able to patiently wait on the Lord in your own strength. Instead, you will need to lean on the everlasting arms of God. Accepting God’s perfect plan for your life will not be easy. But that is exactly what God desires you to do. God has a great plan for your life. However, you will not be all that you can be for Him as long as you continue to waste your time pursuing the things of your flesh. Stop wasting your time on yourself and instead, fill your time with the things of God so that HE might receive the glory for the good things HE desires to do through you.
Have a wonderful day as you remain in His presence. Love you all.
Blessed are those whose hope is in the LORD!
I love Psalm 146 as it is rich with promises of hope for today and your future. It begins by praising the LORD and then offers reasons for such praise and urges us to hope in the LORD and ask Him for help. Have a wonderful day as you put your hope in the Lord.
“Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD their God. He is the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them – He remains faithful forever.” Psalm 146:5-6
Do you know what it feels like to be without hope, stuck in behaviors you can’t seem to change, or in circumstances that leave you powerless, where you look ahead and see only darkness? When people are without help and hope in life, they can fall prey to anxiety and depression, seek relief in addiction, or live with the heavy weight of oppression and bondage.
There is help and reassuring hope for those who trust in the LORD. Psalm 146, beginning in verse 7, outlines His promises and the reason we should hope: “He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets prisoners free, the LORD gives sight to the blind, the LORD lifts up those who are bowed down, the LORD loves the righteous. The LORD watches over the alien and sustains the fatherless and the widow…”
Reread the verses. Hear Him promise to help you and give you hope. Cry to Him for the help you need. Bow down before Him. Look to Him for hope. He has ultimate power and authority. He hears your cry and answers you in the midst of your valley. He gives you what you need, regardless of your life circumstances. Yes, He is your ever-present reassuring hope – past, present, and future. Take His hand today, let Him walk with you….all the days of your life!
