Putting God First!

To the human mind, it sometimes seems easier to run ahead of God, and then just pray that He protects us from the consequences of our own ways. Nonetheless, when we trust in our personal wisdom, and we follow our desires over God’s will, our lives become chaotic. Chaos and confusion aren’t from God, but are the result of our flesh being in control of our decisions in life. When God is given preeminence in our hearts, He will bring order into our lives.

“But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” James 4:6-8

Even though God has given us freewill, willpower is no match to the spiritual power that Satan can exert over us when we run from the plan that God has for us. We may be able to say “no” to Satan for a while in our own strength, but eventually we will wear down and give into his devices. Therefore, we have to realize and acknowledge that we’re in desperate need of God’s grace so that we can overcome the spiritual struggles we face.

Does your life have order and structure? Do you put God first in your life? There is a direct correlation between running from God’s authority and experiencing chaos in our lives. In order for life to exist and produce, be fruitful and multiply, there has to be a healthy environment. God’s Word sets the structure into place, which allows life to exist and flourish.

Placing God first is simply an act of your will that involves your heart. However, before we can place God as number one in our lives, we will have to love Him more than this world or its pleasures. Therefore, if you’ve been running from God, and now you’re running from Satan, then stop, submit to God, and you will have the power to resist the Devil and watch him run from you.

Cling to God in Times of Despair!

I was led to this massage about how we need to Cling to God in Times of Despair! If you have placed your faith in Jesus Christ, take comfort in the fact that you can never be lost and that you are never out of God’s sight. There might be times when you feel invisible – times when you feel lost – times when you stubbornly choose your ways over His – or times when you feel alone, but the Bible tells us that your name is engraved on the palms of God’s hands, and that nothing can separate you from God’s love or snatch you from the palm of His hand.

in his hand

Nothing. “See, I have written your name in the palm of my hands…” Isaiah 49:16a

It doesn’t matter how long you have been serving the Lord, it is quite likely that you have gone through a period of time were you have felt like you are facing the impossible. The feelings and emotions of being alone and far from God seem to overwhelm us during these seasons. You are not unique if you have struggled with these feelings from time to time; you are not alone in these struggles you are facing right now.

The next time you feel like you are all alone facing a battle too hard for you, a mountain too hard to climb, the valley too deep to go through, remember that you are engraved in the palm of His hand as a result of being held tightly and tucked away safely in the cleft of the Rock. He will never leave you nor forsake you; neither will He forget that you are His child, the object of His affection, the one whom He loves. God knows your name. He knows where you live. He’s got your number. You’re never lost. Praise Him!

Lord God, How can we ever thank You for such great love that we fine tucked away securely in the palm of Your hand? Help us to never forget that we are never alone and that you are never far from us. What a comforting reminder You have given us today that Your love encompasses us and keeps us safe in the midst of the storm. There are truly no words that are adequate to convey the thankfulness and praise we feel in our heart toward You. You are awesome, oh Lord, and we love You with all our heart! In Jesus name, Amen!

Are you a broken or crused pot today?

Are you a broken or crushed pot today? Are you suffering because of the loss of a job or the current financial crisis? Are your emotions broken and bruised because of the rejection of a friend or husband? Are you experiencing crushing loneliness because of the loss of someone dearly loved? Is your heart torn and bleeding for a wayward child? If so let this passage and message minister to you.

broken pot with color

“We now have this light shinning in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.”~ 2 Corinthians 4:7

If you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, He says even in catastrophic times He is not only with you but longing to pour out through you.

God’s Word that you have been storing away in the quiet times with Him can be revealed through your brokenness. He sees your pain, and His heart breaks with your every hurt. You are dearly loved. Hold on to His promise that your brokenness is not wasted but releases His Spirit to do works of perseverance, power, character and hope.

I pray with you right now that God would use the broken places of any of you for His great glory and our ultimate good. I pray even as He walks with you through the broken places of your lives that His Word would be exposed and powerful in a lost and dying world.

The Broken Way!

Do you feel like God has led you through the desert? Do you trust that He can and will make a way for your broken paths to be made straight when you call on Him? Spend a few moments contemplating the circumstances of your harder way. Then lift your eyes from your situation to your Savior. Call on God, and say to your soul: Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today…the LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.

broken path bridge

Moses answered the people, ‘Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today … the LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still (Exodus 14:13-14).

Life is filled with challenges. The struggles we endure often leave our hearts breaking and our minds aching for reprieve. We all have experienced our fair share of times when weI’ve been crushed by circumstances that are beyond our control, some worst then others … and I’ve learned that hard times are inevitable and that they hurt.

Every one of us doubts at times. We all fail to trust. But Scripture assures us that even when we are faithless, God remains faithful. As we walk the broken paths that challenge our faith, the truth remains that God does deliver in and through the pain. Though there are struggles that we might take to the grave with us, God is still good. Each hard place is an opportunity for Jesus to show His power in and through our lives.

God has given us his Holy Spirit to lead us by day and by night, to be our Strength, our Power, and our Direction in the deserts of life. Just as God made a way for the Israelites when they called on Him as they faced a seemingly impossible Red Sea situation, He will make a way for you. Call on His name. Trust His plan. Reach for His hand.

I’ve seen it in my own life. God delights to deliver us from our hard places in and through the pain. Hang in there, my friends. He knows each tear you’ve cried and He has never left your side. “Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in His wonderful face and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.”

Keep on knocking!

You may wonder why Jesus used so many parables to get His point across. I have a better understanding of that now, because of how many times God has used things in my own life to teach me a wonderful lesson about prayer. God wants to show us that is we faithfully prayed each day for the things He put on my heart–for myself and others–He would work wonders as a result.

“But I tell you this—though he won’t do it for friendship’s sake, if you keep knocking long enough, he will get up and give you whatever you need because of your shameless persistence. And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.” ~ Luke 11:9-10

door opens

I believe that most of the time, the only way we can receive the answers to our prayers is by praying and standing in faith day after day. This is why, when Jesus was teaching on prayer in the above verses, He said we should keep on asking, seeking, and knocking. Right before Jesus speaks these verses, He tells the parable of the persistent man who knocks on his friend’s door at midnight to appeal to him for bread. The Master concludes the story by saying, “But I’ll tell you this–though he won’t do it as a friend, if you keep knocking long enough, he will get up and give you everything you want–just because of your persistence. And so it is with prayer…” (Luke 11:8-9) It’s then that the Savior instructs us to ask, seek, and knock.

ask seek knock2

This kind of prayer speaks of urgency and desperation. It’s not a faint-hearted, hit-or-miss kind of prayer. It’s not for quitters or for half-hearted believers. One reason we don’t see God’s people enjoying more answered prayer is that they have a tendency to give up before the receive the answer. By the grace of God, our prayers can bring salvation to the lost, healing to the sick, and deliverance to the oppressed. But only if we persist. What happens when we don’t keep asking, seeking, and knocking? We don’t receive, we don’t find, and the door isn’t opened to us, our prayer life will suffer from neglect, too. Don’t be a quitter. Persist in prayer and receive all the blessings God has in store for you and the ones you love!

keep praying boy

This tells us to be persistent in our prayers. Even though we may be on a different timetable than God, we need to be bold and persistent in getting our needs met. We need to expect an answer from God, no matter what obstacles we encounter. When we seek God He promises to answer.  Keep knocking the door will be opened~!

For a person who believe, anything is possible!!!!

You have heard of the power of God. You have read all the scriptures about how with faith the impossible can be done. You understand in your head that God can do anything and that HE is the same yesterday, today and forever. You have heard the testimony of other Christians and heard how God has miraculously provided for them. You believe the power of God, the only problem is that you have seeds of doubt in your head and as such, you sometimes doubt God’s wiliness to work in your life. If that is where you are I hope this message ministers to you.

help my unbelief

“What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible for a person who believes” The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!” Mark 9:23-24

In these passages God acknowledged to Jesus that he had the faith that Jesus could heal his son. However, he also acknowledged that he had some doubt as to whether Jesus was willing to heal his son. Jesus healed this man’s son so that HIS Father would be magnified here on earth. Jesus understood this man’s faith and his lack of faith and HE did not hold this man’s doubt against him but instead, gave this man his petition.

How often have you been the reason why your prayers have not been answered? You understand the power of God in your head, but you refuse to believe God from the bottom of your heart. It takes more then head knowledge to have faith, in order to have great faith; you must learn to have your heart and your head working in the same direction. In order to have faith, you must learn to believe with your heart the things that your mind has learned to comprehend. It is not easy to overcome doubt because it is a battle that Satan does not desire that you win. Satan understands the power of faith and he understands that you will be very ineffective for God if you lack faith.

study word

You could not become a follower of Christ on just head knowledge. You had to learn to believe with your heart. In the same manner, you have heard of the power of God, now it is time that you learn to live your life with the power of God by applying your head knowledge to heart application. Satan desires to create doubt but God desires that you clearly understand HIS will and that you live in HIS power on a daily basis. The only way you are going to overcome the doubt Satan is going to throw at you will be by drawing closer to God and learning to hear HIS still small voice. By faith you will overcome doubt.

Delays by God do not always mean Denials!

If you’re discouraged because of God’s delay in answering your prayers, understand the delay is not a denial. Just because the answer or the miracle hasn’t come yet doesn’t mean God isn’t going to answer or that he’s forgotten you or that he doesn’t care about you. It could simply means “not yet”! Have a wonderful day in His presence as you wait patiently for your answers.

never give up girl

“You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. For, ‘In just a little while, he who is coming will come and will not delay.’” Hebrews 10:36-37

God does it so you can see how patient you are — so you’ll know what’s inside you, and you’ll be able to know your level of commitment. God tests you so that you can know He is faithful, even if the answers you seek are delayed.

keep on keeping on

You may be going through difficult times right now. You may be discouraged because the situation you face seems unmanageable, unreasonable, or unfair. It may seem unbearable, and inside you’re basically saying, “God, I can’t take it anymore. I just can’t take it anymore!” But you can.

believed to be seen

You can stay with it longer because God is with you. He’ll enable you to press on. Remember, you are never a failure until you quit. Resist discouragement, and finish the race God has set before you. If you’re discouraged, turn it around by remembering God teaches you patience during delay. Ask him to transform your discouragement into patience.

God will be with you through the deep waters…..

Good morning everyone I was led to this message for everyone to reflect on. Perhaps you are experiencing the drowning, crushing, and burning power of a trial right now. If so, then you need to know, first of all, that this is part of life. No matter who you are, or where you come from, or what decisions you make in life, you will face illness and pain and loss. Embedded in the promise of this text is the reality of suffering: when you pass through the waters, when you walk through the fire. God’s children are not exempted from tragedy.

deep h2o
When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.” ~ Isaiah 43:2

However, when you do face life’s difficulties, here is the promise for every child of God: He will be with you, they will not overcome you, you will not be harmed.

god doesnt always deliver us

For this reason, you need not fear no matter what obstacle or heartache you may be facing. “Fear not,” God says, “because I have redeemed you, I have called you by your name, you are mine”. I am intimately acquainted with your situation and have already committed myself to your salvation; you belong to me, and I will not let anything or anyone harm you.

If you are in Christ today, then you have been redeemed by God and He will not let anything happen to you that is not for your good (Romans 8:28). No difficulty will drown you, no trial will overwhelm you, no sorrow will destroy you.

Search our Hearts oh Lord!

Lord, as we face our struggles and doubts today, be with us and grant us courage to turn to You. Help us to open the darkest corners of our hearts and minds to Your examination, knowing that we can trust You to love and accept us, and not reject us. There are times our hearts are filled with anxiety and worry, and we can’t find any peace. The stress and struggle of daily living clouds our souls, and we find ourselves losing sight of God and His plan for our life. When that happens, many times we find ourselves drawing away from God and retreating inside ourselves. I pray that this ministers to your heart.

search my heart oh god

“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me, and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and led me along the path of everlasting life.” Psalm 139:23-24
The hardest thing to do is to ask God to search our heart, examine our ways, and cleanse us of any wicked ways that lie inside us. It means being vulnerable and opening ourself to pain – the pain that comes with growth. None of us want to think that there’s any wickedness inside us, but Jeremiah 17:9 says that the heart is deceitful and desperately wicked. That’s why it’s important to open up to God, even in the midst of our pain and confusion. His Spirit reveals the darkness of our souls, and when we see what lies inside of us, we can confess it to Him, and He has promised to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Once we face what God is revealing to us, we can move forward into His grace and love, and discover His peace, the peace that passes understanding. Opening up to God is a frightening thing to do, but He already knows what lies inside us. Nothing we ever think, feel or do is hidden from Him, and to try to hide it from Him or deny our feelings is a bit ridiculous and shortsighted. He created each one of us and He knows everything we’ve ever done and ever will do….and you know what? He loves us anyway!

We can trust Him to bring healing and peace into our lives when we allow Him to search our hearts…He has promised to lead us in the way everlasting, and He keeps His promises. Open yourself up to Him today – it’s hard, but it’s not a risk, because He loves you and has promised to forgive you.
