Patience

Patience is never easy. How often do we want to move to the next thing in our life? However, God’s ways are not our ways. God desires that we add patience to our life. God speaks to us and gives us hope and that hope is what enables us to wait on the Lord. God does not want just our minds to wait upon HIM but also our souls. We must lay down our own ambitions in order to receive the promises of God.

“I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, And in His word I do hope.”~ Psalm 130:5

Image

Maybe you find yourself in Gods waiting room today. Maybe it is a new place for you, or maybe it is a room you have spent a lot of time in, just waiting.  Waiting to see the One who has the authority and the power to fix your problems, grant your wishes, answer your prayers, heal your hurts, ease your heartaches, fill you with peace and make your dreams come true. And that waiting –  is hard – yet, during the wait, we can choose whether our minds wander to a happy place, or an ugly place. We can choose to wonder about Gods will and His timing, or we can choose to wonder whether or not His will and His timing matters. We can choose to wonder about how we can stand strong in our faith, or we can choose to wonder if faith is all its cracked up to be. We can choose to wonder about which verses in God’s Word may apply to our situation, or we can choose to wonder if Gods Word is really applicable anymore. We can choose to wonder about how God is going to act, or we can choose to wonder about whether or not He will act at all. Waiting is not a matter of time, it is a matter of faith and trust. It is an opportunity for us to lay everything at the foot of the cross, and trust God, or to turn our backs on Him and walk away, assuming that we do not see Him working, He is not really there.

Waiting requires trusting that God knows, even when we are feeling impatient. Are you in Gods waiting room today? If so, let your mind wander…..about the hope that can be found through Him; the trust that you can place in Him because He holds the answers to all things; the peace that surpasses understanding; the excitement that you will feel once you can see how God has been sitting right beside you in the waiting room all along; and most importantly, to the perfect timing of His answer when it does finally come.

The Lord is always with me (no matter what)!!!

I was led to this beautiful Psalm in my quiet time this morning. It is such a wonderful Psalm of encouragement to the christian and it’s a great prayer to God. We all have a tendency to dominate our thoughts with ourselves. How much better if our speech and thoughts were filled with faith and praise to Christ. We look to Christ as our Lord, our portion of our inheritance, the One who maintains our lot, Who gives us counsel, and Who is always at our right hand and who lets me say “I know the Lord is always with me.”

Image

“I will bless the Lord who guides me, even at night my heart instructs me, I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken for he is right with me.”~~ Psalm 16:7-8

There is one prayer that we should read every day and it will make all the difference in your life. It is a form of discipline, for if we don’t pray this prayer we wont keep our Spiritual vitality. The prayer is simple and yet powerful. It is, “I know the Lord is always with me.” Knowing that God’s is always with us will make all the difference in the world. Because David was conscious of the fact that God was always with him, right beside him, he was not shaken during life’s struggles. Instead God guided him and instructed his heart at night.

How about you? What if today we were conscious of God right next to you? What if you knew that He was in the same room you were? What if you sensed that He heard your thoughts and prayers and would to answer the questions you have? What if you experienced His comforting presence when you are under pressure? What if you knew He was present to hold your hand when you had that extremely difficult task to do? God is. God is always with us. Let us be conscious of His presence in all that we do today.

Dear God, thank you for being with us constantly. Please make us aware of your presence today. Help us to see how relevant you are to our lives. Help us experience your presence, to really know that you are always with us, in fact right beside us. Father, open our eyes to see you, our ears to hear you and our heart to sense your very presence. In Jesus name. AMEN

Many are afflicted…..

I encourage you to read all of Psalm 34 as it’s theme is that God pays attention to those who call on Him and praise Him,  but when reading  Psalm 34 today, verse 19  stood out to me. We often wish we could escape troubles – the pain of grief, loss, sorrow, and failure or even the small daily frustrations that constantly wear us down. God promises to be “close to the brokenhearted” and to be our source of power, courage, and wisdom, helping us through our problem. Sometimes He chooses to deliver us from those problems. But when trouble strikes, don’t feel frustrated with God. Instead, admit that you need God’s help and thank him for being by your side.

“Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all.”~~ Psalms 34:19

Image

If we are honest with ourselves, we have to admit that there are times when small insignificant things steal our joy and pull us away from the Lord. It has been said before that admitting that there is a problem is the first step in overcoming the problem. David is admitting that there are constant problems in the world that cause us pain, distress and suffering. When we realize that these things exist in our lives, the solution to overcoming these things is much clearer. David’s solution is found in the second half of verse 19. “But the Lord delivers him out of all of them” shows that a true reliance on God’s power is the only way to fight against our afflictions. The things that cause pain, distress, and suffering will always be present in our world. The good news is that the solution will also always be present, and His name is Jesus Christ.

So what does this mean for you and I today? This Psalm tells me that I have a chance to win the battle over my afflictions. My own strength is worthless against the things that cause me pain, distress and suffering, but the strength of my Savior is powerful enough to remove any of the things that seek to cause me harm. As you go through your day today, pray that the Lord will make your afflictions known and deliver you from each and every one of them. Remember that even when you feel weak, the Lord’s strength is still as mighty and powerful as it has ever been.

2 Corinthians 12:10

That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

During times of deep challenge make a choice to trust God!

Challenges come to all of us. Sometimes they can feel overwhelming. When they do our tendency is often to become discouraged in our faith. where you might ask “Why would God let me go all the way down this road only to close the door now?” When life is tiring and confusing it’s easy to lose hope in God’s ability to work on our behalf. We can become weary and not bother picking up the Bible to hear what His Spirit has to say to us. We can cease to pray, feeling that God isn’t hearing us anyway.

God knows our nature is to fall away when times are hard and we are confused. He knows we will tend to neglect His Word.  Hard circumstances in life can be times of equipping. The roots of a mighty tree must go deep so it will be grounded when the fierce winds blow.  During times of deep challenge make a choice to trust God. Make a decision to allow God to equip you with spiritual understanding and wisdom for your next step.

Stay disciplined. Keep equipped by standing on the promises of His word. Keep the door of your heart open with an invitation to Him to lead you every step of the crooked way.  He will build a track record in your life that will secure you in your faith. He is faithful. Be determined to continue to equip yourself with prayer and His word.

Though circumstances and people may disappoint you, God never will. His strength will hold your hand and your heart through those times when your world is shaken.

Be determined to be that one who will not be shaken…. I will not be moved…  no matter what!

I hope you can listen to this song – (not sure if this will work)  but this is the link….

We must trust God!

We must trust God with today without worrying about the uncertainty of tomorrow. This is radical trust in Christ. If we obsess over fear of the future we most certainly will define this with negative consequences. Then, unwittingly, we create a self-fulfilling prophecy and worry our self sick and maybe others too. Or, we become of no use for today because you are too worried about tomorrow. We get stuck in the inertia of distrust. But, the Lord can be trusted. We need to Meditate on His faithfulness instead of what might happen. Unleash the radical trust that resides within us. Reignite the passion for Jesus. Lay aside the sins of disbelief and worry. The cross of Christ and his resurrection are radical. Trust God even if He has not or does not come through as planned. He is still trustworthy, so be radical in your trust!

“If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if he does not, we want you to know, O King that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” Daniel 3:17-18

Radical trust in God means you trust Him even when it seems He may not come through. You are not pregnant, but you still trust God. You do not have a job, but you still trust God. You have been betrayed, but you still trust God. You are sick, but you still trust God. You are lonely, but you still trust God. You are afraid of something He put on your heart, but you still trust God.

Your wise decision-making is based on God’s trustworthiness. You know He is able, but it may not be His timing. So, do not compromise your convictions, but trust in Him. It may not seem fair or right, but God has a bigger picture in mind. Do not be held captive by your finite knowledge and understanding of your circumstances. You can still trust the One with infinite wisdom and understanding. You are not alone in your current fire of difficulty or adversity.

The Lord is with you. Your faith has been bolstered and is not extinguished because you know God is walking with you. Your faith is fire proofed by the Holy Spirit. The flames of hell are no match for fire from heaven. Your Savior defeats Satan in every encounter. But even when you are denied acceptance and physical comfort you can still trust God.

Trust in God is not just for the good times, though a radical trust may be required even during prosperous times. But radical trust is greatly needed when things heat up and you lose something precious or you are refused something you may deserve. This is the time to ratchet up your radical trust. It is for times like this that God has molded your faith.

What if God has not come through? Radical trust means you stay focused on His past faithfulness. The mundane in our everyday life is a link in the chain between life’s transitions. Today’s link is important to tomorrow’s transition. We should hope for the transition to come, but trust God with today because we cannot handle more than today’s troubles or triumphs. Therefore, do not worry about matters out in the future that you have no control over.

Do I radically trust the Lord with past events and decisions? How trustworthy is He for tomorrow?

The total care of God!

No one lacks anything when they are cared for by the Lord who provides everything. He may not give His children all they want, but His extravagant goodness provides all they need. God’s stature as the Great Shepherd over His sheep is without comparison. No bank account can account for the One who owns all the wealth of the world. No insurance policy can cover the assurance of Him who gives eternal life to all who believe. God’s total care is comprehensive.

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. ~ Psalm 23:1
Image

We lack nothing, when we hand everything over to God. We are free when we are unshackled from our stuff. Yes, some will say we are silly, even irresponsible to see the Lord as our provider. But God’s wisdom is foolishness and far out to those who view Him as distant and impersonal. Matters of the spirit are only discerned by the Spirit, so those who have yet to taste of the Spirit’s goodness cannot see and understand His ways. The Lord’s sheep lack nothing of consequence!

You are totally loved, led, protected and provided for by the Lord. He makes you feel secure and safe in His presence. As you walk through trials He is with you to comfort and encourage. Even in the face of death, His peace and rest are ever present for you to access and enjoy. When you unwisely stray toward sin, His rod and His staff gently bring you back into His faithful flock. Oh, what a good and loving Shepherd who shepherds your heart, mind and soul for His name’s sake.

He gives us the courage and emotional energy to face our enemies so we fear no evil. We are privileged and grateful to be with Jesus now and forever. He cares for us!

With God all Things are Possible.

Image

This verse reminds us that with God all things are possible. When we ask for God’s help, we dedicate our endeavor to Him. We admit that in our strength this would not be possible but we proclaim that God can accomplish anything through someone who is willing. We put God’s courage into our heart with His truth. Keep your eyes on the Lord every day and not on your circumstances. I pray that you will start to learn how to walk in faith and stand on the promises of God speaking God’s Word to the liar and deceiver, Satan.

“Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.'” ~  Mark 10:27

Image

Never doubt that God is in control. He has a plan and a purpose for your life. He wants you to walk in faith and praise Him instead of giving up on His mighty power. He wants you to learn some very important lessons during your spiritual journey in your wilderness as you are headed to your promised land. In His timing He will restore whatever you’re going through and make you stronger than ever before. Yes, I know that life is not always easy or fair. I understand about mountains of circumstances. What are you going to do, we need to go to the Lord, praying, choosing to praise the Lord and believing that nothing is impossible for Him and He can delivery you so He can get all the glory, honor and praise.

Join with me and let’s pray to have our faith increased knowing that nothing is too hard for God. But as you face your circumstances, I challenge you to throw off the spirit of heaviness and depression, but choose to praise the Lord in the darkest hours of your night. Let us all shout to the Lord praising Him for His greatness, His holiness, His faithfulness and for His amazing love for His children.

Will you worship and praise your Lord today and everyday? Will you walk in faith instead of fear of the unknown?  The enemy likes to put fear upon each of us as we look at the mountain of circumstances that we each face. Whatever mountain are you facing? Will you join me praying and believing in the power of your Lord God to move the mountain of your circumstances as you walk closer to your Lord Jesus Christ? (Mark 11:22-25)

I pray you will share not so much this blog as the message!  Share Jesus today!

Healing For a Broken Heart!

One of the most painful emotional experiences is that of a “broken heart” whether it be from a severed relationship or the death of a loved one. or a myriad of other things. Everyone has to deal with a broken heart at some point in life because we live in a fallen world, and, as a result, we are constantly faced with shattered dreams, unexpected losses, and hurting relationships. But God gives hope to all those who suffer from a broken heart by promising both His abiding presence and His overflowing peace.

Psalm 34:18 says that the Lord “is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” In John 14:27 Jesus states, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you . . . Do not let your hearts be troubled.”

Image

God’s purposes in allowing pain in our lives are multifaceted. Not only does He teach us about His love and faithfulness amidst our times of sorrow, but after our grieving has ended, He gives us strength to offer words of edification to others who are experiencing similar trials. I Peter 5:9 says, ” . . . Your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.” Thus, we serve as both a support base and a hope for those who are walking through difficult situations proving that with God’s help even seemingly insurmountable obstacles can be overcome.

If you are struggling with emotional pain, take comfort in the fact that God has your situation as well as you in the palm of His hands. He will not let you go, and He will not let you down. A final word of hope can be found in I Peter 5:10, “And the God of all grace, who called you . . . , after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, form, and steadfast.” Take heart, the pain you experience today may be your platform for ministry tomorrow.

Really Trusting in God!

One of The hardest things for us to do is release our faith. When we truly trust the Lord with our hearts, we finally give Him permission and freedom to minister to us without us getting in His way.He won’t force anything on us. But we must let go completely. By NOT trusting Him…we are retaining our control over our situations. But because of our limits as human beings, we really have no control anyway. Rather than telling God exactly what you think you need for yourself, ask Him to do what is best for you (Your Kingdom come, Your Will be done) and trust that whatever happens is what He wants for you for this time, and follow the Holy Spirit’s leading. God wants to give you a full and abundant life, but He only asks for you to believe in Him. The Lord can then make you the person He wants you to be, a person of true faith. Trust Him to be REAL!

Image

We want to believe in Him, but why is it so hard? Trusting in God is vital to our spiritual lives, yet our faith is so weak. If we only knew the amazing way that the Lord would open up to us if we would just open up to Him in belief. And the Lord has done an interesting thing…the more we trust in Him…the more He rewards us and reveals Himself to us. But when we doubt Him and don’t have faith, nothing ever happens. He doesn’t try to prove Himself or surprise us with a revelation to show us that we’re wrong.

You see the point is…it’s all up to you. If you don’t believe that God will do much for you… then guess what…He pretty much won’t. You’re life will likely stay the same old way for a long time. But if you trust in God to come and make your life new…be ready for Him to come in like gang busters. It’s very exciting.

This is the key: Belief and trust…and keep on trusting regardless of what is going on around you, even if things seem hopeless. Relinquish your mind’s control over all situations.Take your hands off and let go of your fear & unbelief. Stop trying to figure things out. TRUST GOD TO WORK.
