Always Learning

A Safe Harbor is Jesus

No matter how long you may live, you’ll never stop learning. Every minute of every day brings new opportunities to learn something we’ve never known before. As long as we’re open to receive, God will continue to teach us every day.

I’m still learning, and I know I always will be. What God teaches me every day about love continues to change my life. I’ve come to the place where I can honestly say, “Lord, eliminate everything in my life that’s holding me back. Please take away anything that’s keeping me from walking in love and finding true fulfillment in my life.” In other words, “Lord, reduce me to love—bring me to a state or condition of walking in love completely!”

One of the most important facets I’ve learned about love is unselfishness, which is characterized in the Bible as a willingness to sacrifice one’s own wishes for those…

Trade Anxiety for Peace!

God calls us to guard our hearts and minds carefully. (Proverbs 4:23) He also gives us amazing insight as He tells us how HE will also guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. It isn’t all up to us. Yes, we make the choice to pay attention to what we allow to settle there. We need to choose wisely and bring our thoughts and concerns to Him for His help.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God… And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” ~ Phillippians 4:6-7

When we do this God does the amazing and gives us a peace in our hearts that is beyond understanding! This peace itself guards our hearts and minds from dangerous stress and hasty, unwise choices. Thanksgiving is a key.  Everyday there is much to be thankful for. There is also much to keep one feeling anxious and worried. Yet God calls you to live in thanksgiving and in peace. Worry only gives way to fear and fear will displace your faith causing anxiety to grow. God tells us to let faith take the upper hand and cover over the fear that tries to slip in and rob you of peace. Let the truth of His word change your anxious heart and mind and let worry be your call to prayer.

Praying for your husband

Awesome post!

PRAYING FOR YOUR FUTURE HUSBAND, PRAYING, HUSBAND,Half a year ago I was sitting in my room grading some worksheets we had given our teens from church as homework and I came across one of my girl’s papers on which I read something that made me put everything down and just stop and think. I don’t know what question it was responding to but she had written: “I’m praying that one day God will bless me with a good, godly husband and we’ll have a good family once we get married.”

All of a sudden I felt really convicted, because here I have one of my thirteen year old girls writing about how she’s praying for her future husband and it made me realize that half of the time I forget that I’m supposed to be praying for my own future husband as well.

Don’t get me wrong. I’ve been praying for my husband since I was a young…

I know the Lord is always with me

A Safe Harbor is Jesus

This is a beautiful Psalm I read in my quiet time this morning. It is such a wonderful Psalm of encouragement to the Christian and it’s a great prayer to God. We all have a tendency to dominate our thoughts with ourselves. How much better if our speech and thoughts were filled with faith and praise to Christ. We look to Christ as our Lord, our portion of our inheritance, the One who maintains our lot, Who gives us counsel, and Who is always at our right hand. Have a wonderful day know that God is always with you.

“I will bless the Lord who guides me, even at night my heart instructs me, I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken for he is right with me.” Psalm 16:7-8

Overcoming Doubt!

A Safe Harbor is Jesus

It is okay to be in doubt, but it is not okay to remain in doubt. What doubt challenges your faith in God right now? Is it His provision, His promises, His presence, His character, or His care? When these questions assault your confidence in Christ, take a step back and review His track record.

“But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.” ~James 1:6

Furthermore, use this temporary time of distrust to go deeper with Jesus. The pressure you feel on all sides is your Savior’s way of soliciting your attention. When in doubt, seek out the Lord, learn to love Him completely, and discern more fully His profound promises. Use doubt to dig deeper into the truth of Scripture; marinate your mind.

When in doubt, stay steadfast…

Finding Hope in The Lord!

I believe of the biggest problem we have in the world today is there are so many people who have lost hope. There seems to be so many hurts, problems, sicknesses, troubles, financial woes, family problems, world issues, political concerns, etc. It seems the world has no hope. Apart from God, it is an awful, hopeless place. But with God’s help, we can make it. I want you to know that whatever situation you find yourself in at this moment, there is hope. You may not be able to see or feel the hope, but it is there for you. How do we find the hope? There is only one place where hope can be found, and that is in Jesus Christ.

“Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD.” ~Psalm 31.24

David found himself in situations many times and had to remind himself that Hope is Real. It comes from God. Trust God. He wants you to trust Him. You need to agree with God about your situation. What does God say about who you are and what His will is for your life? Don’t go by your feelings. Instead we should remind ourselves that God only has plans for us that are good. Jeremiah helps us remember what God has to say about us. “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” ~Jeremiah 29:11

We do not need to be disappointed and feel alone. We can have hope! God’s love in our hearts will ignite the flames of hope we have buried deep inside our hearts. God’s Word can encourage us as we read it with great anticipation and faith.

I hope and pray this message brings life to you. Pray out loud the words of hope into your life and your situations. I have hope! My hope is in the Lord! I will be strong and wait on the Lord. I trust God with my life and the life of my family. Speak these words every day. Hope Is Real. It comes from God! He has placed it in your heart. Speak it out and watch what God will do for you.

He Will Wipe Away Every Tear!

This message is for everyone to reflect on. In every life there will be some “dark valleys”. Difficult days cannot be avoided. In fact, the lives of some believers seem to be filled with affliction and suffering. But for the child of God(born-again believer), there is a glorious relief just ahead…the return of Christ in the clouds for His bride the church, and the promise of a land of endless delight!  Have a wonderful day in presence and know that someday every tear will be wiped of away for those who are in Christ.

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will be no more death, or sorrow, or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” ~~ Revelation 21:4
Image
We live in a world filled with tears and sorrow. And time and time again, in the Scriptures we’re reminded that suffering and anguish are an inherent part of our fallen human condition. So what is our hope? In the midst of so many trials in the tribulations of life, is there a better tomorrow we’re promised?

Well, the answer is, most definitely, yes! God has promised to wipe away every tear from every eye in the life to come. There will be no more weeping, no more pain, and no more sorrow. The old things will pass away and the new will come!

But until that day, every tear we cry should be a reminder of that wonderful promise. And while the pain you face today may be real, the hope we have in Christ is that it’s only temporary. Let your heart yearn for heaven today when all things will be made new!
