I know the Lord is always with me

This is a beautiful Psalm I read in my quiet time this morning. It is such a wonderful Psalm of encouragement to the Christian and it’s a great prayer to God. We all have a tendency to dominate our thoughts with ourselves. How much better if our speech and thoughts were filled with faith and praise to Christ. We look to Christ as our Lord, our portion of our inheritance, the One who maintains our lot, Who gives us counsel, and Who is always at our right hand. Have a wonderful day know that God is always with you.

“I will bless the Lord who guides me, even at night my heart instructs me, I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken for he is right with me.” Psalm 16:7-8

There is one prayer that we should read every day and it will make all the difference in your life. It is a form of discipline, for if we don’t pray this prayer we wont keep our Spiritual vitality. The prayer is simple and yet powerful. It is, “I know the Lord is always with me.” Knowing  that God’s is always with us will make all the difference in the world. Because David was conscious of the fact that God was always with him, right beside him, he was not shaken during life’s struggles. Instead God guided him and instructed his heart at night. How about you? What if today we were conscious of God right next to you? What if you knew that He was in the same room you were? What if you sensed that He heard your thoughts and prayers and would to answer the questions you have? What if you experienced His comforting presence when you are under pressure? What if you knew He was present to hold your hand when you had that extremely difficult task to do? God is. God is always with us. Let us be conscious of His presence in all that we do today.

Dear God, thank you for being with us constantly. Please make us aware of your presence today. Help us to see how relevant you are to our lives Help us experience your presence, to really know that you are always with us, in fact right beside us. Father, open our eyes to see you, our ears to hear you and our heart to sense your very presence.
In Jesus name. AMEN

God is the only One who can Guide us!

God is looking for us to put our hope and trust in Him today, ALL day long, not just tomorrow or when we are in need of Him. He’s challenging us to see all the moments of our lives as being filled with meaning. Each moment is filled with the presence of God, but sometimes we are so stuck on vision and dreams that we skim right by them. I encourage you to start your days differently. Start each day by praying, asking God to give you a clear understanding of each moment. It’s okay to still plan and dream about the future, of course, but concentrate more on each moment, as well!

“Show me the right path O Lord, point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me. for you are the God who saves me, All day long I put my hope in you.” ~~Psalm 25:4-5

Image

God is the only one who can guide us. We must seek His guidance and direction in all things. In other words when we need guidance in our lives we should say God show me Your way in how I should approach this. Too often we we want to take our approach to how we should handle a situation and then want God to fix our mess. Doesn’t that just seem a little backwards? Now granted we may get in situations and need His help, but first and foremost we need to be seeking His guidance, His directions.

I encourage you let the Lord be your guide in all that you do. He will never lead you astray and will always be with you every step of the way. Be encouraged to know even when the journey gets rough that He will provide comfort even in those times. In fact I love how the Apostle Paul put it the joy we can even find in our suffering( Colossians 1:24 ). Not that we look forward to getting hurt, but that we endure for Christ’s sake. This pain is for God’s glory despite how difficult it may seem, it works for our good. Once again my brothers and sisters be encouraged and seek God for His guidance.

GROW IN THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD!

There is always more to learn about God. The more time you take drawing closer to HIM, the more you will find out how much you do not know. God desires that you grow in knowledge; this means that you do not allow your relationship with HIM to grow stale but that you constantly make HIM a priority in your life.

“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen.”~~ 2 Peter 3:18

Image

It does not matter who you are or how long you have known Christ as your personal Savior, there is always something more you can learn about your relationship with God. You may feel that you know a lot about God, but the more you mature in your relationship with God, the more you will realize just how little you actually know.

It does not matter whether you have just sinned and fallen short of the glory of God or whether you have just seen the power of God demonstrated to the world through your life, there is something more that you can learn about the ways of God. You must learn to grow in your relationship with God. You must learn to put God first in your life. As you draw closer to God, God will reveal HIMSELF to you and will enable you to do even greater things for HIM.

Where are you at right now in your relationship with God? Are you on a mountain-top or are you in the valley of the shadow of death. It does not matter where you are in your relationship with God; there is always something more that you can learn about God. You must be diligent to draw closer to God. You must put God first in your life so that HE might be glorified through your actions. You will not grow in knowledge of God by avoiding God; you will only grow in knowledge as you put HIM first in your life and you allow HIM to direct your path.

Have a wonderful day in the presence of the Lord.

Keeping in Perfect Peace!

“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Trust in the LORD always, for the LORD God, the LORD is the eternal Rock.” ~~Isaiah 26:3-4

Image

This message is about Keeping in Perfect Peace. Some people tend to believe that peace is simply the absence of problems, valleys and trials. Not so! Peace is a calm confidence that the Lord of the mountains is still on the throne – no matter how deep the valley may be. Trials become opportunities to trust God when peace reigns in a heart. That kind of peace can only be found in God. Have a wonderful peaceful day in His presence.

Notice that I did not say we find peace in church membership, in doing good things, in giving large sums of money to a charity or ministry, or even in being a really good person. Peace is a gift. When we enter into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, we enter into true peace.

We cannot bargain for or earn peace my friends, but we will experience peace when we are willing to move away from our sin and turn to the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ. Then, and only then, will we find rest in Him. Do you long for just one minute of peace? Don’t settle. God offers a lifetime of peace if we are willing to trust Him. I know the list of trials and storms is long. I understand that the problems we deal with every single day can weigh us down; but I also know that every problem can be given to God. When we surrender the weight of our trials and pain to Him, we will experience peace. As we allow God to carry the weight of our worry, the burden of our anxiety and the penalty of every sin in our life, peace will reign and leave no room for the deadly trap of stress. Today, I pray that you will trust God and rest in Peace.

Carrying Others Burdens!

This message is about Carrying Others Burdens! We need to ask the Lord to fill our hearts with His love and compassion, and to help us to do more than speak of love, but to all allow His love to multiply in our lives and touch others. And to ask Him to forgive us for turning the other way, and neglecting to share the mercy, and love we have so freely been given, but instead to a make a difference in someone’s life today. Have a wonderful day making a difference in someone’s live.

“Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.”~ Galatians 6:2 Image

Genuine love comes from God. We don’t have the ability to show the level of compassion, love, and mercy of God to the world, unless we receive it from Him; the kind of love that will reach out to the lost, feed and clothe the poor, and understand and show compassion, to those who are hurting physically and emotionally.

There are millions who are lonely and feel ostracized from society, all because of a lack of love and understanding, and through Christ, we have the ability to make a difference. We are ambassadors for Christ, and His hands extended towards the hurting, outcasts, sick, and oppressed of the world. When we simply talk of love, it is easily and quickly forgotten. When love is demonstrated, it makes an everlasting impression.

Fill our hearts Lord, with your love and compassion. Help us to do more than speak of love, but allow Your love to multiply in our lives and touch others. Forgive us for turning the other way, and neglecting to share the mercy, and love we have so freely been given. Make a difference in someone’s life through us today. Amen.

There is always hope!

We have all suffered setbacks in our lives. In this time of uncertainty,  our personal struggles can bring fear and doubt into our lives. It is hard enough to survive much less have any hope for the future. We are told in Scripture that God sends the rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. Why is that?  I mean if you are trying to live and do what is right, why must you endure such the same hardship as evildoers? Whatever deep waters of problems that you have, take hope knowing that Christ died to give you a future. He reached down and took you this far and he has the power to take you to the end!

I lift up my eyes to the hills – where does my help come from? (Psalm 121:1-2)

God always has a plan. For believers, whether you are experiencing a time of peace in your life or enduring the heat of a painful struggle, you have the assurance of knowing that all things are being directed by the hand of God. When it seems as though you are being defeated, it just means that your victory is near. There is nothing to fear in any battle for the war of life has already been won at the cross! Jesus has made you a conqueror over all that comes against you. For that reason,  the enemy’s tactic is to fill your mind with despair and hopelessness since he knows that you can never be destroyed. He is attempting to kill, steal and destroy the hope you have been given in Christ. Never surrender to him what Christ has paid a price to give you!

While we await the return of Christ, we are going to face trials of every kind. Although you may be feeling overwhelmed in your pain, God is always in control with full authority to bring your sufferings under submission to His will. Everything, big or small, is  being worked out for the best for those who love God and are called according to His purpose.(Romans 8:28). If you become anxious and hopeless in the midst of a trial, it is because you are listening to the lies of an enemy who has no power over you. There will never be a need too great or a heartache so painful that the amazing, never-failing love of Christ cannot heal.

Those who put their hope in the things of this world will perish with it. No one is exempt from the trials of this world, but the faithful who trust in the cross of Christ shall never fall. God has a deliberate, eternal purpose in allowing trials in the life of believers. You are being molded and shaped for the world to come. He is preparing a place of royalty in heaven for you that will more than compensate for your momentary troubles here on earth.

Pour out your Heart Before God!

Pouring out your Heart Before God! God made your heart, redeems your heart, and knows best how to heal your heart, whether broken or just heavy. If that sounds like you right now, then you know what to do. Get alone with God, and pour out your heart with humility and honesty, secure in His love.

“Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us.” ~Psalm 62:8

There will be times when your heart is full of questions and doubts. And you think no one else would listen or could help. So much is bottled up inside – feelings and fears that you do not know how to give a voice. Alone you wrestle with a confusion of thoughts and emotions that you cannot find words to express, nor would you to know to whom they could be safely shared. Such times can be lonely moments of the soul, when you find yourself unable to express the things inside and equally unable to dismiss them.

My dear friends, isn’t it amazing to think that the God of all creation wants us to cry out to Him and bring our daily needs to Him? Yet He does! He wants us to trust Him and come to Him with our cares and concerns. He is a refuge for us. Oh if we could remember this truth throughout our day as we scurry about with all our busy tasks. It’s easy to rush around in our own strength and power trying to get everything accomplished while forgetting that our Loving Heavenly Father invites us to look to Him for patience, wisdom and help.

I’m reminded of how many times have we said  “No! I can do it myself!” It can be exasperating to hear those words, but how often are we saying them to God? “I’ll do it myself!” Gently, lovingly our Gracious God is holding out His hand and saying, “Come to me my child. I will be your refuge and strength.”

Let’s melt into His arms and feel His loving embrace. No matter what we have done, His amazing grace beckons us to Him. The Bible says God loves us with an everlasting love.  His love, unlike human love, is perfect and sweet, deep and abiding. So join me in pouring out our hearts before Him, knowing He loves us with a redeeming love.

Come unto me……

This message for everyone to reflect on for anyone who needs rest from their burdens that they are carrying. Are you soul weary? Are you having a difficult time seeing the light at the end of the tunnel? Is your heart heavy for someone right now? Do you just need a moment of rest, a moment to breathe, a moment to escape the downpour in your life? Jesus has the answer. He has made a way for you.

“Come to me all you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” ~Matthew 11:28

In the course of the week, I encounter so many people with overwhelming problems. Some were mourning the loss of loved ones. Some struggled with physical ailments; others dealing with job losses. I thought how small my difficulties are in comparison. I felt so helpless. My little interruptions paled in comparison to those around me. Do you ever feel that way as well?

Ever been so weary and burdened you wanted to just give up? Ever wonder which way to turn? When we face these situations day after day, hour after hour, our strength grows weak. It is nothing to be ashamed of; there’s no need for guilt or despair. Our bodies are telling us to rest. Our spirit is telling us it needs refreshment. Our minds need to rest from racing and chasing solutions.

The problems we have create mountain after mountain that seem impossible to climb. We need Jesus. We need His comfort and strengthening power. Ask for it. Give Him your worn spirit, your tired body, your broken heart. Let Him take it from you; surrender it all and let Him restore the joy of His salvation. Fear not, for He is with you, even to the end of the age.

This passage offers us hope. Are we ready to come to Jesus with our weary hearts and receive the rest we long for? Recognizing Jesus as our source of refreshment and our source of strength will enable us to acknowledge that we cannot be an effective Him. We need Him everyday!

Let God direct your steps

The thing is… God WILL determine our steps. Whether we ask Him to or not. He loves us and wants what’s best for us. I’d much rather work with Him than against Him along the way! I’d much rather learn the easy way than the hard way about just what it is and where it is that He desires to take me. That being said, remember that God knows your heart. He often will use and direct you to things in which you are gifted at or where your natural personality leans. He just may “tweak” how you get there! “We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.” Proverbs 16:9

As you meditate upon the desires of your heart you come up with certain plans and ambitions for your life. While these plans do not always result in the perfect plan for your life, you must understand that if your heart is right towards God, this is just one of the ways that God can use to direct your steps.

One of the most important things you can do is to ensure that your heart is right before God. If you have a heart that is right towards God, then God can move on your heart to give you certain desires and ambitions. As you learn to delight in the Lord, God will direct your steps in accordance with the desires that HE has already given to you.

However, if your heart is not right towards God, Satan will try to control your heart with things that are not pleasing towards God. As you start praying for the things that Satan has filled your heart with, God will not direct your steps that direction and you will be disappointed and discouraged that God is not answering your prayers.

Remember that it is God who created your heart, why should you be surprised when God uses the desires of your heart to give you direction regarding the way that you are to go. If you spend your time ensuring that your heart is pure towards HIM, maybe the Lord has already given you the direction that you are to go based upon the desires of your heart. Maybe you already know what the Lord desires you to do and as you pursue that path, God will start opening doors.

What are the desires of your heart? Start pursuing the desires of your heart to see if this is the direction that God has for you. God may have already given you the direction you need to start preparing so HE can start opening the doors in your life. You do not know when God is going to open the door for you to start seeing the fulfillment of the desires of your heart, but you can start preparing now to ensure that you are ready to be used of God as HE has already directed you.

If you would like to see that the desires of your heart are fulfilled, then you must first take the time to ensure that your heart is right towards God. You must daily spend time drawing closer to God so you learn to hear HIS still small voice. As you spend time adding to your knowledge of the ways of God, God will be able to use your heart to start directing your path long before you actually receive the direction to go and serve HIM in a certain way. So give your plans over to God and seek Him in your quest to fulfill your life’s dreams and longings.
